I’ve been using several web analytics platforms in the past year. I’ve registered several web analytics trials in order to get familiar with the available solutions. I’ve found out that web analytics platforms, all used the same language, but there are differences between each one. Replace Image – Content Personalization Action

In this post I want to talk about the “Replace image” action in Personyze. The replace image is a very simple action which allows website owners to replace image with another image on-the-fly. As any other action, it exists inside an ActionGroup which is connected to a segment. The replace image action in Personyze web analytics gets a string to search for (aka. Search – which can be case sensitive or not), “Search in” which signifies the places where to search for the image string (ex. image paths and background image / image paths / background images), “Search Where” (ex. Inside hyperlinks, outside hyperlinks or everywhere), Apply to specific containers and “Replace with what”, which is the target image.

I was playing around with Personyze “Facebook Connect” and “Facebook Publish” actions and I was really impressed with the results so far. Many marketers use Facebook as a platform for marketing products and services, whether using on-site advertising, Facebook applications and sharing widgets (ex. LIKE button). Mouse click segmentation with Popup Action – Personyze

A ‘Popup’ action is an action that which draws a HTML Div with content onto the current web page that the visitor is currently viewing. The Popup action takes several parameters, including: HTML content, Javascript code, Width and height, margin (in pixels), Z-index, position of the popup, CSS properties, delay (in seconds) and more.

How to setup a domain and JavaScript tracking code – Personyze

I’ve heard people saying that when they sign-up to Personyze the web analytics JavaScript tracker doesn’t track their website. The reason for that is very simple: you haven’t setup your domain yet in the domain’s setting page. Now when you logged-in to Personyze web analytics for the first time, you will get a big User guide popup window with a large “Important!” notice. The popup will tell you not to forget setting up a domain, before start tracking and using the platform. Customer Offline Tracking – Cross reference online and offline data

One of the most exciting features in Personyze Behavioral targeting SaaS is Offline tracking. It is not a new concept and I guess many of you are already familiar with Offline tracking. Testing Segments and Actions on My IP Address – Personyze tutorials

Sometimes when I create a segment and attach an action to it (actually an action group in Personyze), I want to be able to test the action on myself only. For example, I wanted to create a specific banner which appears for visitors from the UK. What I did was to create a segment with ‘United Kingdom’ as the ‘Country’ and saved the segment by clicking “Save and create Action Group”. After that I have created a ‘Popup’ action and added an image in the HTML editor + a link to a ‘UK sale’ page.

Internet Explorer 9 will Include Third-party Anti-Tracking Protection

Today I’ve read an article on practicalecommerce.com regarding Internet Explorer 9 and its included tracking protection. The all idea behind this project is to block 3rd party tracking scripts from taking place when you use that feature. So Internet Explorer 9 visitors can use this feature to prevent Google Analytics or any other 3rd party tracking script to track what we are doing on the website. The official announcement of the “tracking protection” mechanism was posted in Microsoft’s MSDN blog.
