I’ve been using several web analytics platforms in the past year. I’ve registered several web analytics trials in order to get familiar with the available solutions. I’ve found out that web analytics platforms, all used the same language, but there are differences between each one. If you are familiar with terms like: segmentation, custom reports, bounce-rate, returning visitors, pageviews and exit pages, you most probably have an experience with some kind of web analytics platforms.

In this post I want to talk about the “Replace image” action in Personyze. The replace image is a very simple action which allows website owners to replace image with another image on-the-fly. As any other action, it exists inside an ActionGroup which is connected to a segment. The replace image action in Personyze web analytics gets a string to search for (aka. Search – which can be case sensitive or not), “Search in” which signifies the places where to search for the image string (ex. image paths and background image / image paths / background images), “Search Where” (ex. Inside hyperlinks, outside hyperlinks or everywhere), Apply to specific containers and “Replace with what”, which is the target image.
