We don’t hear announcement like this everyday, but hey, Google itself is saying that Facebook is the most popular sites in the world, this according to Google’s announcement about the 1000 most-visited sites on the web report that was published on 20h April, 2010.
Google’s report lists the domain of the websites, its rank, the category that the website belongs too, unique visitors, reach, page views and if it supports online advertising. Facebook social network is placed 1st with 540,000,000 unique visitors each month and 570,000,000,000 page views. Facebook reach is 35.2% of all the Internet users, and that’s is an astonishing number to swallow.
Yahoo.com is at the second place with 31.8% reach with 490,000,000 unique visitors per month and 70,000,000,000 page views. Microsoft’s search engine ‘live.com’ is at the 3rd place with a reach of 24.1%, following by Wikipedia.org and msn.com.
As you can see, Facebook as clearly surpassed Yahoo and became the second most popular website on the web. The growth of Facebook is nothing short of astonishing. There is one this that is certain, Facebook is the most popular website on the web today, according to Google.
